Biographical/Historical Note
Sister Irene was born Irene Plourde on December 26, 1907 in Fall River, MA. She entered the Fall River Congregation on June 30, 1932. She received the habit on July 1, 1933 and was given the religious name, Sister Marie Michel. (She began using the religious name, Sister Irene after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on July 2, 1934 and final vows on July 2, 1937 . During her years in the congregation she served in the following convents: St. Rose, Acushnet, MA; Motherhouse, Fall River, NY; and St. Peter's, Plattsburgh, NY. She died on January 1, 1995.
