Biographical or Historical Information
The Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of Fall River was founded in 1891 and voluntarily dissolved in 1995. That year, the Fall River sisters joined with the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh, New York and the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor, Ossining, NY, to form the new Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of Hope, Ossining, NY, on July 22, 1995.

Other Descriptive Information
The Fall River archive was officially closed when the congregation dissolved in 1995. Beginning on 2017 November 28, the archives staff, per instructions from the Leadership Council, disconintued entering records and papers of the Dominican Sisters of Fall River into the Archon online content management system. The Council instructed the archives staff that the hard copy finding aids prepared by the previous Fall River archivist(s), until the congregation's dissolution, would continue to serve as the means of discovery for the contents of the archive.
Processing Information
Records and papers of the Dominican Sisters of Fall River were found in filing cabinets in archives. It was not apparent whether they previously had been processed as part of a particular collection in the Fall River archive. Archives staff processed the collection in 2017 according to the method herein and entered it into the Archon online collection management system.
