Biographical/Historical Note
Sister Carmelle was born Carmelle Marquis on July 4, 1906 in Quebec, Canada. She entered the Fall River Congregation on December 8, 1930. She received the habit on July 1, 1931 and was given the religious name, Sister Antoine Daniel. (She began using the name, Sister Carmelle after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on July 2, 1932 and final vows on July 2, 1936. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: St. Anne, Fall River, MA, 1930-1939, 1940-1944, 1948-1961; St. Francis Xavier, 1939-1940, 1947-1948; and D'Youville Academy, Plattsburgh, NY 1944-1945. She died on June 17, 1977.
