Biographical/Historical Note
Sister Martin was born Alma Landry on November 27, 1894 in Fall River, MA. No date of entrance to the Fall River Congregation is recorded. She received the habit on August 4, 1916 and was given the religious name, Sister Martin de Porres. (She began using the name, Sister Martin after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on August 4, 1917 and final vows on August 4, 1921 . During her years in the congregation she served in the following convents providing domestic services: Fall River, MA Motherhouse; North Dakota; Acushnet, MA; Plattsburgh, NY; Mooers Forks, NY; Peru, NY; and Ellenburg, NY. She died on December 4, 1994.
