Biographical/Historical Note

Sister Mary of the Rosary was born Eva Lacroix on September 7, 1897 in Fall River, MA. No date of entrance to the Fall River Congregation is recorded. She received the habit on March 7, 1918 and was given the religious name, Sister Marie du Rosaire. (She began using the name, Sister Mary of the Rosary after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on March 7, 1919 and final vows on March 25, 1923. During her years in the congregation she served in the following convents: Acushnet, MA; Peru, NY; Mother House, Fall River, MA, 1917-1924, 1933-1954, and 1955-1978; She died on November 12, 1953.
