Biographical/Historical Note

Sister Mary of the Sacred Heart was born Blanche Coutu on August 29, 1897 in Fall River, MA. No date of entrance to the Fall River Congregation is recorded. She received the habit on March 7, 1919 and was given the religious name, Sister Mary de Sacre Coeur. She pronounced first vows on March 7, 1920 and final vows on August 7, 1924. There is no record of ministry assignments, however it was noted in her obituary that she was mistress of boarders in Fall River, MA and served in the department of music and chant. She died on September 11, 1912.
