Biographical/Historical Note

Sister Mary Pius was born Gertrude Connors on April 29, 1907 in Fall River, MA. She entered the Fall River Congregation on August 3, 1926 and received the habit on July 26, 1927 and given the religious name, Sister Mary Pius. She pronounced first vows on August 4, 1928 and final vows on August 4, 1932. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: St. Catherine, Fall River, MA; St. Rose, Acushnet, MA; St. Dominic, Plattsburgh; St. Augustine, Peru, NY; and St. Bernadette, New Haven CT.. She died on July 27, 1982.
