This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Ann was born Ann Zimmerer( Zimerer) on August 23, 1905 in Passaic, NJ. She entered the Newburgh Congregation on September 4, 1927 and received the habit on June 16, 1928 when she was given the religious name, Sister Joseph Vincent. (She began using the name, Sister Ann after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on June 17, 1929 and final vows on August 20, 1935. During her years in the congregation she served in the following places in domestic service: Sts. Peter and Paul, Trenton, NJ, 1931-1962; Holy Family, New Rochelle, NY, 1962-1967; Dominican House of Studies, Washington, DC, 1967-1978; Holy Rosary, Hawthorne, NY, 1978-1985; and Holy Trinity, Passaic, NJ, 1985-1989. Sister moved to Mt. St. Mary, Newburgh, NY and retired in 1993. She died March 17, 1998.
