This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Ann Patricia was born Frances Woods on December 18, 1911 in Philadelphia, PA. She entered the Newburgh Congregation on September 8, 1929 and received the habit on June 20, 1930 when she was given the religious name, Sister Ann Patricia. She pronounced first vows on June 23, 1931 and final vows on August 30, 1937 . During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: St. Augustine, Larchmont, NY, 1932; St. Joseph, Toms River, NJ, 1932-1935, 1943-1944, 1973-1975; Mt. Vernon, NY, 1935-1943; St. Rose, Haddon Heights, NJ, 1944-1947, principal 1969-1973, 1975-1983, and an aide in the learning center, 1984-; St. Lawrence, Laurel Springs, NJ, 1965-1969. She also did volunteer pastoral service at St. Lawrence Convent in Lindenwold, NJ,1995-1997. Sister Ann Patricia earned her BS and her MA in History from Villanova University. She died December 11, 2011.
