This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Ann was born Ann Tumulty on November 30, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ. She entered the Ossining Congregation September 8, 1950 and received the habit on April 30, 1951 when she received the religious name, Sister Kevin Marie. (She began using the name, Sister Ann after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on May 1, 1952 and final vows on May 1, 1958. During her years in the congregation she served in the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor Family Health Agencies: Ossining, NY, 1950-1953, 1972-1984, Supervisor of Infirmary; Boston, MA, 1958-1959; Dayton, OH, 1959-1962; Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY, 1962-1966, 1967-1972, 1984-1985; and Denver, CO, 1966-1967. She also served in: Phelps Memorial Hospital, Tarrytown, NY in nursing and pastoral care, 1985-1987; New Community corporation, Newark, NJ as director of Home Health, 1987-1995, workforce development and intake and student counseling, 1995-2000; and St. Rose of Lime Parish, Newark, NJ, parish ministry, 2000-2006. Sister then retired and ministered in volunteer work at the Ann J. Ferguson Apts., Linden, NJ. Sister Ann earned her RN from Misericordia Hospital. She died February 19, 2008.
