From the Record Group: This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH.  It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical

Sister Diane was born Diane Trotta on January 12, 1955 in Bronx, NY. She entered the Newburgh Congregation on August 31, 1980 and was received as a novice on August 23, 1981. She pronounced first vows on January 15, 1983 and final vows on August 9, 1986. During her years in the congregation she served in the following health care facilities: Phelp's Memorial Hospital, North Tarrytown, (Sleepy Hollow) NY, as staff nurse in Critical Care, 1980-198;, and 1986-1987 as Nurse Manager on Oncology/Med. Surg. Unit; and at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Bronx, NY, 1985-1986, as staff nurse in Perioperative Services/PACU. She worked in health services administration at Westchester County Medical Center, Valhalla, NY, 1987-1990 IN THE Quality Management Department as Clinical Nurse Specialist, As HIV/AIDS Management Specialist, 1990-1994. Sister Diane was administrator of health care services for the Dominican sisters of Hope, Siena Hall Infirmary, Newburgh, NY, 1994-1998, and was coordinator of holistic health care services for the Dominican Sisters of Hope, 1998-2005. Sister was Health Care Coordinator the Marist Brothers of the Americas, 2005. She was clinical coordinator at St. Luke's- Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY, 2005-2015, and Assistant Director of Quality and Patient Safety, Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of WMC Health, Poughkeepsie, NY, July 2015-June 2019. Sister Diane earned: her AAS in Nursing from Bronx Community College; her BSN in Nursing from Pace University; and her MPH in Public Health Service and Policy Management from New York Medical College. Sister also participated in the Collaborative Leadership Development Program, St. Louis, MO sponsored by Leadership Conference of Women Religious, 2013-2015.
