This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Margaret Mary was born Frances Rottinghaus on May 19, 1929 in Cincinnati, OH. She entered the Ossining Congregation October 10, 1950 and received the habit on April 31, 1951 when she received the religious name, Sister Margaret Mary. She pronounced first vows on May 1, 1952 and final vows on May 1, 1955. During her years in the congregation she served in the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor Family Health Agencies : Ossining, NY, 1958-1968; Hampton Bays, NY, 1968-1969, 1978-1983; and Cincinnati, OH, 1977-1978. She was a member of Central Administration of the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor, 1966-1976. She has worked with the Dominican Sisters Family Health Service in Hampton Bays NY, where she served as staff nurse, then as supervisor of special programs and community relations, 1983-. Sister Margaret Mary earned her BS in Nursing from the College of Mount Saint Vincent and her MA in Religious Studies from Providence College.
