This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Ann Cecilia was born Anna Regan on March 20, 1930 in Jersey City, NJ. She entered the Newburgh Congregation December 8, 1948 and received the habit on June 17, 1949 when she received the religious name, Sister Ann Cecilia. She pronounced first vows on June 19, 1950 and final vows on August 21, 1953. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: Saint Rose, Haddon Heights, NJ, 1950-1960; Holy Rosary, Hawthorn, NY, 1960-1965; Christ the King, Yonkers, NY,1965-1969; Saint Patrick, Newburgh, NY, 1969-1970; and Saint Mary, Poughkeepsie, NY, 1980-1981. Sister was principal in the following schools: Assumption, Fairfield, CT, 1970-1976; and Saint Mary, Ocean, NJ, 1981-1990. Following a sabbatical at Wellsprings, Glens Falls, NY, Sister was principal at Saint Thomas of Canterbury, Cornwall, NY, 1991-1999.Sister Ann Cecilia earned her BS in Elementary Education from Villanova University and her MA in Administration from Fairfield University in Connecticut. After retiring from education, she did volunteer work for the Dominican Sisters of Hope, particularly in the development office at Mt. St. Mary, Newburgh, NY, 1999-2007. Sister moved to residential Care, Newburgh, NY and then to the Brandywine, Wall, NJ. Sister Ann Cecilia earned her BS in Elementary Education from Villanova University and her MA in Administration from Fairfield University in Connecticut. She died July 22, 2017.
