This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister June was born June Quinlan on July 2, 1933 in Bronx, NY. She entered the Newburgh Congregation September 8, 1960 and received the habit on June 7, 1961 when she received the religious name, Sister James Richard. (She began using the name, Sister Julie after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on June 20, 1962 and final vows on March 24, 1968. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: Saint Anthony, Hawthorne NJ, 1962-1966; Assumption, Fairfield, CT, 1966-1972; Saint Christopher, Parsippany, NJ, 1972-1973; and Holy Family, New Rochelle, NY, 1973-1985. She served as director of religious education at : Holy Rosary, in Hawthorne, NY, 1985-2002; St. Joseph, Bronxville, NY, 2002-? Sister June earned her BA in Social Studies from Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, NY and her MA in Religious Studies from Manhattan College. She died February 8, 2020.
