This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Juliana was born Marie Naulty on February 20, 1923. She entered the Newburgh Congregation September 7, 1941 and received the habit on June 16, 1942 when she was given the religious name, Sister Juliana. She pronounced first vows on June 17, 1943 and final vows on August 25, 1949. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: Holy Family School in New Rochelle, NY, 1944-47; Casa San Jose in Newburgh, NY, 1947-50; Bishop Dunn Memorial, Newburgh, NY, 1950-60; and Our Lady of Victory, Mount Vernon, NY, 1960-63 . From 1963 to 1966 she was history and religion teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie. In 1966, she was appointed principal of St. Cecilia School in Iselin, New Jersey. In 1971 Sister Juliana moved to St Joseph Elementary School in Toms River where she was principal until 1994. In 1994 she remained at St. Joseph’s where she did development work for the elementary school until she retired to the Newburgh Center of Hope in 2007. Sister Juliana received a B.S. in Education from Villanova University, PA and an MA in Education from Catholic University, Washington, D.C. She died on October 14, 2008.
