This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Fidelis was born Helen Morris on May 7, 1912 in Providence, RI. She entered the Ossining Congregation December 7, 1931 and received the habit on June 10, 1932 when she received the religious name, SisterFidelis. She pronounced first vows on June 12, 1933 and final vows on June 12, 1937. During her years in the congregation she served in the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor Family Health Agencies : 210th St., NYC, 1933-1940, 1948-1951, 1952-1954; Detroit, MI, 1941-1947; Denver, CO, 1951-1952, 1953-1954; 69th St., NYC, 1955-1956; Columbus, OH, 1956-1961; 84th St., NYC, 1962-1963; Dayton, OH, 1963-1964; Springfield, OH, 1965-1967; and Ossining, NY, 1968-1995. Sister Fidelis earned a certificate in Practical Nursing. She died May 6, 2006.
