This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Estelle Marie was born Catherine McKeever on December 17, 1927 in Beverly, NJ. She entered the Newburgh Congregation on September 8, 1945 and received the habit on June 24, 1946 when she was given the religious name, Sister Estelle Marie. She pronounced first vows on June 25, 1947 and final vows on August 26, 1950. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: St. Joseph, Toms River, NJ, 1947-1948; Haddon Heights, NJ, 1948-1952; Holy Family, New Rochelle, NY, 1952-1959; Our Lady of Lourdes HS, 1959-1969, 1972-1975; Immaculate HS, Danbury, CT, 1969-1970; and Gloucester Catholic HS, 1970-1971. Sister also served as Associate Librarian, Mt. St. Mary College, Newburgh, NY, 1983-1985, Librarian, 1985; and as Congregational Archivist for the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh, NY, 1984. Sister Estelle Marie earned her AB in Latin from Villanova University, and her MA in Latin from Catholic University. She died July 31, 2008.
