Sister Marie Patrice was born Anne McDonagh on March 5, 1901 in Ireland. She entered the Newburgh Congregation on September 8, 1930 and received the habit on June 24, 1931 when she was given the religious name, Sister Marie Patrice. She pronounced first vows on June 24, 1932 and final vows on August 20, 1938. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: St. Mary, Poughkeepsie, NY, 1932-1939, 1961-1967; Our Lady of Lourdes, Paterson, NJ, 1939-1942; Sacred Heart, Camden, NJ, 1942-1946; Pensacola, FL, 1946-1949; St. Patrick, Newburgh, NY, 1949-1954; St. Augustine, Larchmont, NY, 1954-1959; Assumption, Bridgeport, CN, 1959-1960; Christ the King, Yonkers, NY, 1960-1961; St. Paul, Jersey City, NJ, 1967-1972; and St. Mary, Newburgh, NY, 1972. Sister then taught part time, St. Patrick, Newburgh, NY, Remedial Reading, 1979 and Bishop Dunn Memorial, Newburgh, NY, 1979-1982. She also provided services to the community at Mt. St. Mary, Newburgh, NY, 1982. Sister Marie Patrice earned her BS in Education from Villanova University. She died June 6, 1999.
