This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Patricia was born Patricia Magee on February 12, 1959 in Bronx, NY. She entered the Newburgh Congregation on September 11, 1983 and was received into the novitiate on September 3, 1984. She pronounced first vows on September 13, 1986 and final vows on November 12, 1994. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools in Special Education: Bishop Dunn Memorial, Newburgh, NY, 1985-1990, and at Maplebrook School in Amenia, NY, 1990-1992. She was a special education teacher at St. Francis Hospital Special Needs Preschool in Hyde Park, NY, 1992-1993. Sister was senior special education teacher, 1993-2000, and coordinator of special education, 2000-2006, both at the Poughkeepsie site of St. Francis. Sister was appointed to the leadership team of the Dominican Sisters of Hope, -2009, and then elected, 2009 -2014. She returned to St. Francis Hospital Preschool, 2015-. Sister Patricia earned her BA in Biology and Special Education and her MS in Special Education from Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, New York.
