This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Joseph Marie was born Gloriette Levesque on January 26, 1935 in Fall River, MA. She entered the Fall River Congregation on August 31, 1953 and received the habit on August 28, 1954 when she received the religious name, Sister Joseph Marie. She pronounced first vows on August 22, 1956 and final vows on August 22, 1959. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: Sister taught at both elementary and high school levels at: Dominican Academy, Fall River, MA, Bishop Gerard HS, Fall River, MA, and St. Peter HS, Plattsburgh, NY, St. and Anne, Fall River, MA. She was treasurer for the Dominican Sisters of Fall River, MA and for Dominican Academy. 1070-1994. Sister was Motherhouse Plant Administrator in Fall River from 1981-1995. In 1994 she was appointed business manager at Cathedral Camp and Retreat Center in East Freetown and then served as director from 1995-2007. Sister earned her BA from Regis College; her MS from Syracuse University; and her M.Ed from Rhode Island College.
