This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Andrew Mary was born Yvonne Leger on November 9, 1909 in New Bedford, MA. She entered the Fall River Congregation on August 29, 1928 and received the habit on July 9, 1929 when she received the religious name, Sister Andrew Mary. She pronounced first vows on August 4, 1930 and final vows on August 15, 1934. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: St. Anne, Fall River, MA, 1928-1930, 1931-1949, 1954-1961, 1972-1974; St. Francis Xavier, Acushnet, MA, 1947-1948,1949-1954, 1961-1967; and Plattsburgh, NY, 1968-1972. In 1974 sister moved to the Motherhouse in Fall River, MA, and then to the Center of Hope, Newburgh, NY, in 2002. She died May 28, 2003.
