This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Beatrice was born Beatrice Lapalme on June 13, 1913 in Acushnet, MA. She entered the Fall River Congregation on September 5, 1936 and received the habit on March 6, 1937 when she received the religious name, Sister Raymond Beatrice. (She began using the name, Sister Beatrice after Vatican II).She pronounced first vows on March 7, 1938 and final vows on March 7, 1941. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: St. Anne, Fall River, MA, 1938-1941, 1950-1951; and St. Francis Xavier, Acushnet, MA, 1941-1950, 1951-1993. She died, September 10, 2008.
