This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Ann Jerome was born Ann Kociolek on March 13, 1938 in Jersey City, NJ. She entered the Newburgh Congregation on September 8, 1959 and received the habit on June 7, 1960 when she was given the religious name, Sister Ann Jerome. She pronounced first vows on June 14, 1961 and final vows on August 4, 1966. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: Saint Mary, Gloucester, NJ, 1961-1967; Saint Rose, Haddon Heights, NJ, 1967-1969; Saint Joseph, Bayonne, NJ. 1969-1973; Saint Paul, Jersey City, NJ, 1973-1983; and was assistant principal at Saint Paul, 1983-1993. Sister has been assistant associate of business affairs at Saint Benedict Parish in Newark, NJ, 1993-. Sister Ann Jerome earned her BA in Elementary Education from Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, NY.
