This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Agnes Edward was born Florence Henwood on August 25, 1911 in Philadelphia, PA. She entered the Newburgh Congregation on September 12, 1931 and received the habit on July 12, 1932 when she was given the religious name, Sister Agnes Edward. She pronounced first vows on July 13, 1933 and final vows on August 21, 1939. During her years in the congregation she served in congregational services; Mt. St. Mary Convent, Newburgh, NY, 1933-1949; St Patrick Convent, Woodbury, NJ, 1949-1952; St Augustine Convent, Larchmont, NY, 1952-1967; and part time at Mt St Mary Convent, Newburgh, NY, 1967-. She died December 15, 2012.
