This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Diane was born Diane Dupee on March 27, 1933 in New Rochelle, NY. She entered the Newburgh Congregation on September 8, 1949 and received the habit on June 16, 1950 when she was given the religious name, Sister Catherine George. (She began using the name, Sister Diane after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on June 18, 1951 and final vows on August 24, 1954. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: Saint Rose, Haddon Heights, NJ, 1951-1960; and was music teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, NY, 1960-1963. After pursuing full-time studies at the Pius XII Institute in Florence, Italy, Sister taught music at Gloucester Catholic High School in Gloucester, NJ, 1964-1965; and at Pope Pius XII Regional High School, Passaic, NJ, 1965-1975. She was engaged in music ministry at the Dominican Reflection Center in Ossining, New York, 1976-78 and at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Scarsdale, NY, 1978-1986. Sister ministered in pastoral ministry as well as music ministry at Saint Augustine Parish New City, NY, 1986-2004. She served as a volunteer organist at the Marian Shrine in Stony Point, NY, 2004-2017. Sister also continued to give piano lessons from her home in Garnerville, NY. Sister Diane earned her BSM in Music Education from Nazareth College, her MMU in Music from Pius XII Institute, Florence, Italy, and her MA in Liturgical Studies from Notre Dame University, Indiana.
