This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Paulette was born Paulette Degagne on October 1, 1932 in Providence, RI. She entered the Fall River Congregation on September 2, 1950 and received the habit on August 28, 1951 when she received the religious name, Sister Mary Paul. (She began using the name, Sister Paulette after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on August 30, 1952 and final vows on August 30, 1955. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: Dominican Academy; and St. Peter, Plattsburgh, NY. She was active in the Religious Education programs in: Mooers Forks, NY, Chateauguay; and Peru, NY. Sister also served as pastoral associate, St. Stephen's Church, Attleboro, MA. Sister Paulette earned a BA in Elementary Education, Providence College, Providence, RI and an MA in Pastoral Ministry, St. Joseph College, West Hargofed, CT. She died December 1, 1995.
