This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Mary Regis was born Margaret Corcoran on June 7, 1929 in New York City. She entered the Newburgh Congregation on September 8, 1956 and received the habit on June 12, 1957 when she was given the religious name, Sister Mary Regis. She pronounced first vows on June 13, 1958 and final vows on August 21, 1961. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: St. Patrick, Newburgh, NY, 1956-1957; St. Joseph, Toms River, NJ, 1958-1969; Regina Coeli, Hyde Park, NJ, 1967-1969; Dominican House of Studies, Washington, DC, 1969-1970; St. Anthony, Hawthorne, NJ, 1970-1972; and Holy Rosary, Hawthorne, NY, 1972-1984. Sister also served in the Provincial Treasurer's Office of the Marist Brothers, 1985-?; and in the Treasurer's Office of the Dominican Sisters of Hope. Sister Regis earned her BA in Elementary Education from Mt. St. Mary College, Newburgh, NY. She died on March 18. 2009.
