This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Patricia was born Patricia Catlett on May 14, 1934 in Denver, CO. She entered the Ossining Congregation on September 7, 1952 and received the habit on March 8, 1953 when she received the religious name, Sister Robert Martin. (She began using the name, Sister Nancy after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on September 9, 1954 and final vows on September 9, 1957. During her years in the congregation she served in the following Dominican Sisters Home Health Care Agencies: Denver, CO, 1955-1956; Cincinnati, OH, 1956-1957; and Ossining, NY,1958-1960. After completing studies she worked as a nurse with the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor in Hampton Bays, NY, 1962-1963; Columbus, OH, 1963-1964; and Springfield, OH, 1964-1983. She did social work and nursing with the Catholic Social Services in Springfield 1978-1979; and did home nursing with Urbana Nursing Home in Urbana, OH, 1979-1983. Sister was a nurse at St. Mary of the Springs Infirmary in Columbus, OH, 1983-1993. After four years caring for an elderly parent, she worked in ministry to the blind in Denver, CO, 1998-1999. She worked with the Archdiocesan Housing Committee in Denver, CO, 1999-2002. Sister Patricia earned her RN from Bronx Community College and her BA in Social Work from Ohio Dominican College.
