This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Marie Anne was born Yvonne Cardin on November 9, 1911 in Fall River, MA. She entered the Fall River Congregation on June 30, 1932. There is not recorded date for receiving the habit but she did receive the religious name, Sister Marie Anne. She pronounced first vows on July 2, 1934 and final vows on July 2, 1937. During her years in the congregation she served in the following convents in domestic services: Motherhouse, Fall River, MA, 1932-1947, 1966-1969, 1972-1992; St. Rose, Acushnet, MA, 1947-1950, 1951-1954, 1957-1958; St. Peter, Plattsburgh, NY, 1950-1951; St. Augustine, Peru, NY, 1955-1957; St. John's Nursery, Fall River, MA, 1958-1960, 1961-1965; New Haven CT, 1965-1966, 1970-1972; and North Dartmouth, MA, 1969-1970. She died April 20, 2001.
