This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Roberta Ann was born Evelyn Bucci on October 9, 1926 in Camden, NJ. She entered the Newburgh Congregation September 8, 1956 and received the habit on June 12, 1957 when she received the religious name, Sister Roberta Ann. She pronounced first vows on June 13, 1958 and final vows on August 21, 1961. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: St. Brendan School, New Haven, CT, 1958-1960; Saint Joseph Elementary School, Toms River, NJ, 1960-1969; Saint Mary School, Newburgh, NY, 1969-1970, Saint Mary, Gloucester, NJ, 1970-1974; Christ the King, Yonkers, NY, 1974-1978; and Saint Joan of Arc, Camden, NJ, 1978-1979. Sister was teacher and librarian at Saint Joseph Elementary School, Toms River, NJ, 1979-1995; and assistant librarian at Saint Mary’s School, New Monmouth, NJ, 1995-1997. She moved to the Ossining Center of Hope in 1997 where she was a volunteer clerical assistant until 2002. She then moved to St. Mary's Residence, Lawrenceville, NJ. She died February 17, 2021.
