This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Deborah was born Deborah Blow on March 15, 1953 in Malone, NY. She entered the Fall River Congregation on January 2, 1974 and was received into the novitiate on August 12, 1974. She pronounced first vows on August 7, 1976 and final vows on August 11, 1979. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: Saint Peter, Plattsburgh, NY, 1978-1985; assistant principal at Saint Peter School, Plattsburgh, NY,1980-1985 and principal 1985-1995. Sister taught religion and was campus minister at Seton Catholic High School in Plattsburgh, NY, 1996-2001. She has been executive director of the North Country Mission of Hope, a spiritually-based humanitarian organization committed to fostering hope and empowering relationships with the people of Nicaragua, 2001-. Sister Deborah earned a BA in Biblical and Religious Studies from Providence College and an MA in Theology from Saint Michael’s College, Vermont.
