This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Ann William was born Elvira Berberich on January 16, 1929 in Covington, KY. She entered the Ossining Congregation on March 25, 1950 and received the habit on December 8, 1950 when she received the religious name, Sister Ann William. She pronounced first vows on December 9, 1951 and final vows on December 9, 1954. During her years in the congregation she served in the following Dominican Sisters Home Health Care Agencies: Minneapolis, MN, 1962-1968; Bronx, NY, 1954-1957; Dayton, OH, 1958-1959; and Springfield, OH, Minneapolis, MN, 1962-1968; 1968-1970; and Detroit, MI, 1952-1954. Denver, CO,1974-? Among the capacities in which she has served are: Nursing Supervisor; Critical Care Nurse; adult nurse practitioner; health care assessment and foot care; and Administrator of the Glendale Clinic. She also served as tenant relations director for GAO Maes Low Income Housing. Denver, CO. Sister Ann William earned a BS in Nursing from Metropolitan State College.
