This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Marie Paule was born Marie Paule Beauregard on January 4, 1908 in St. Dominique, Quebec, Canada. She entered the Fall River Congregation on December 29, 1930 and received the habit on July 1, 1931 when she received the religious name, Sister Mary of the Eucharist. (She began using the name, Sister, Marie Paule after Vatican II). She pronounced first vows on July 2, 1932 and final vows on July 2, 1936. During her years in the congregation she served in the following schools: St. Anne, Fall River, MA, 1929-1937, 1941-1942, 1946-1969; St. Peter, Plattsburgh, NY, 1937-1939, 1944-1945; St. Francis Xavier, Acushnet, MA, 1939-1941- 1945-1946; Dominican Academy, Fall River, NY, French tutor, 1969-1971. Sister also provided services to: Dominican Academy, Fall River, MA, 1971-1972; and St. Catherine Convent, Fall River, MA, 1972-1995. Sister Marie Paule earned a BA in humanities and modern language from Providence College, Providence, RI. Sister moved to the Landmark Residence in Fall River in 2002. She died January 14, 2005.
