This collection contains records from all the sisters who make up the DSOH. It includes their personal papers, publications, artistic work, photographs, diplomas, ministry history etc. The Dominican Sisters of Hope were founded in 1995. The group includes members of the former Newburgh Domincan, Fall River Dominican and Ossining Dominican Communities. The sisters work and minister in various ways including community organizing, social work, education, environmental advocacy, and retreat ministry.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Cynthia was born Cynthia Bauer on December 12, 1942 in Hackensack, NJ. She entered the Dominican cloister in Summit, NJ, April 30, 1961. She pronounced first vows in December, 1962 and final vows December, 1965. She began the affiliation process with the Dominican Sisters of Hope, August 26, 1999. Sister transferred her vows, December 8, 2002. During her years in the congregation she served in the following ministries: assistant infirmarian at the Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary, Summit, NJ, 1965-1969; novice mistress and councilor, Monastery, Summit, NJ, 1977-1998, Prioress, Monastery, Summit, NJ, 1998-1999; Sacred Heart Home in New Bedford, MA, 2001-2007; Catholic Campus Ministry program, Bristol Community College, Fall River, MA.2007-.
